While visiting my family, we had a stay at home night. This restaurant was suggested and agreed upon. We decided to call in the order and pick it up. When we picked up the order it was stapled inside of a paper bag so it was really hard to make sure we got what we ordered. Of course when we got home we were missing an entire meal. We called and let them know and they delivered the missing meal to us. they also included some extra goodies (wonton crisps, rice, spring rolls) to apologize for the mistake. We tried to tip the delivery guy and becuase of the mistake, he refused. THAT'S GOOD BUSINESS! Food: I ordered the steamed dumplings (potstickers) and the shrimp and veggies from the diet section. They were both delicious!!! I don't live in the area but I would totally order it again.

So, today there is irony. I travel all around the state for work and my recent review of Chow's of Santa Fe was disappointing at best and had mentioned that I will try DD next time. Lo and behold there is a DD also in Rio Rancho, just down the road from where I'm typing away today. The fates aligned for me to do a counter-review to compare to uber-expensive Chow's of Santa Fe. Ordered a pretty tame meal for me, Roast Pork Egg Foo Young....old classic but when you're craving gravy goodness, it hits the spot...when it's decent and this one was more than decent. Not only were the omelet pancakes hearty, they were well-balanced with rustic chunks of veggies. The gravy was better than most and the fried rice was quite good. And guess what? It was only $8 (I got the Combo, the smaller lunch special is only $6) versus the $13+egg rolls = almost $18 at Chow's of SF. And there was RICE (which Chow's doesn't give even with entree pricing and no lunch specials to speak of. Very good, DD. Not greasy. Great value and quality. Will definitely hit DD in either RR or SF again. :)

Triple Swan is my dish of choice. Stir fry perfection. Vegetables are crisp and juicy, and the shrimp, scallops, and chicken all melt in your mouth. The portion size is big enough for two servings: tomorrow's lunch! The dining room is a bit warm, being right next to the kitchen. And the counter help is rather chatty - impossible not to overhear their gossip from where I was sitting. I suspect most of their business is done through takeout.

Double Dragon is great. I always get their Crab Rangoon as an appetizer and have them with hot mustard. Yummm!

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Rio Rancho. For call in take out orders they always say 10-15 minutes. It's more like 20-25 minutes. The food is tasty, but not too hot. If you like hot and spivey Asian food try the Bannana Leaf.

We ate there last night. The service was excellent even though it was very busy. The food was very good. Big generous servings. So much that we had leftovers to take home for another meal. Prices were reasonable, under 20 for 2.

This is my favorite local Chinese restaurant. My husband and I have eaten here several times, and the food is always delicious. They have some very, very hot and spicy mustard, which is one of my favorite reasons for going. It's not the yellow, bland stuff in the little packets. This will clear your nasal passages and probably the person's next to you, too. Every dish I've ever tried at Double Dragon has been tasty, and the service has always been fast and good. A great little place that you could easily miss, since it's off the main road in northern Rio Rancho. Check it out if you want a good (and cheap) Chinese meal!

Been getting take out for years, but this last year the food has not been good on a consistent basics. Some times it pretty good, other times like the order we got last night the food is/was awful. The orange chicken had no sauce & no flavor. What we got was mainly fried chunks of chicken. The meat in the Broccoli beef was grisly and tough. Don't know if they've got new cooks or what. but we won't be going back any time soon.

If I could give this establishment no stars, I would. Ordered the mixed vegetables and soup for lunch, before my work day ended I upchucked my lunch. If it's the LAST Chinese restaurant on the PLANET ... will NEVER return.

Needs some updates! We went for lunch and the service was super slow because they only had 1 poor waitress for the massive lunch rush that was coming out the door! The food was not quite what I expected. The hot and sour soup earned them a star from me (Sorry its my weak spot). I hope I went on a bad day. I always go back to restaurants for second chances so I hope I get to bump up my stars next time!

Had lunch, very filling, ample for price. Took out so can't attest to ambience but the entry/order is well lit, clean and counter personnel were warm and friendly. Definitely will revisit!!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
